Meet Our Team
Rev. Dr. Jeff Hayes
Jeff serves as the Senior Minister. He grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before graduating Furman University with a B.A. in Religion, followed by Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Gardner-Webb School of Divinity. He has served churches in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Barnwell counties, all in South Carolina; as well as Asheville, North Carolina. Jeff has actively participated in denominational service with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and other civic boards and committees. He is married to Krista a native of Lexington, KY who is the Director of Lifelong Learning @ Rock Hill.. Together they have two boys: Benjamin and Jackson. In addition to spending enormous amounts of time with his wonderful family, Jeff enjoys Furman football, Kentucky basketball, and a near-par round of golf.
Rev. Leigh Reynolds
Leigh serves as the Associate Minister for Spiritual Growth and Missions. She grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina and began sensing a call to youth ministry while in high school. Leigh has a B.A. in Religion and Christian Education from Presbyterian College and a Master of Divinity from Gardner-Webb School of Divinity. Prior to marrying her husband, Phillip, in 2014 and moving back “home,” she served as a youth minister in Easley, South Carolina. From 2017-2022 Leigh served as Oakland’s Coordinator for Youth and Communication Ministries before transitioning to her current role in 2023. Although a proud Blue Hose, on Saturdays in the Fall you can find her wearing orange and cheering on the Clemson Tigers. Leigh and Phillip enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and attending Winthrop Eagles Basketball and Baseball games.
Rev. Patrick Griffin
Patrick serves as the Associate Minister for Children and Youth. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina and loves spending time at the coast. Patrick has a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School. He previously served as a missionary in East Asia and on the ministerial staff at First Baptist Church Wilmington, NC in various roles. Patrick was married to Nicole in December 2023. Patrick and Nicole are both proud Tar Heels, and they love spending time at the beach, in the mountains, or exploring new places together.
Rev. Eddie Ramsey
Eddie serves as the Pastoral Care Associate. He grew up in the Inman area of Spartanburg County. Eddie is a graduate of Furman University with a B.A. degree in religion; and he also received his M.Div. degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Eddie pastored for a total of 24 years in three churches in Spartanburg, Anderson, and York counties of South Carolina. He joined Oakland Baptist Church in 2011, and began serving on a part-time basis as Pastoral Care Associate in August of 2016. In addition to his church duties, Eddie also works for Piedmont Natural Gas in Charlotte, North Carolina. Eddie has two married children and three grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, as well as playing the piano, cooking, and working around the house.
Rev. Doug Haney
Doug serves as the interim Minister of Music. He retired from Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas in May 2023 after serving as their Minister of Music for 19 years. Prior to Wilshire, Doug served the music ministries of Providence Baptist in Charlotte, NC, First Baptist Church of Meridian, Mississippi, Hillcrest Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, and First Baptist Church of Buford, Georgia. He earned the Bachelor of Music degree (1980) from Georgia State University and the Master of Music degree (1983) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Following retirement, he and his wife Lori moved to Rock Hill to be close to their two adult children and four grandsons.
Jessica Collins
Jessica serves as our Director of Oakland Day School. She and her husband Ronnie have two children, Jackson and Eliza. They also have a sweet rescue pup named Maggie. As a family they like to walk and hike outdoors and go on adventures. They love traveling and exploring new areas. Jessica also loves spending time with family and friends and working on new projects in their house and yard. They spend most of their free time with family in Edisto Island, SC.
Missy Snipes
Missy serves as the Office Manager. She is from Lancaster, SC. She attended USC Lancaster and York Technical College and comes to OBC with over 20 years of experience as a church Administrative Assistant and 10 years as a church Financial Secretary. Missy and her husband, William have four children, Ashley (Evan), Heather, Matthew and Kaylee. Missy enjoys hiking, kayaking and meeting new people.
Thereasa Crabb
Thereasa serves as our Office Assistant. After spending 35 years in Myrtle Beach, Thereasa husband and were tired of the constant hurricanes and neighborhood flooding. So, they downsized and moved to Rock Hill in September 2019. They have five adult children, six grandsons, and one granddaughter. Thereasa has done church work for many years and is delighted to be working at Oakland Baptist.
John Posey
John serves as the Organist. A native of Norcross, Georgia, he studied piano and organ performance at the University of Evansville. He has previously served as Organist at Trinity Lutheran Church in Evansville, Indiana and as Music Director for English Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe, North Carolina. In his spare time, John enjoys playing backgammon, biking, and listening to Beethoven. John looks forward to making music and worshiping with everyone here at Oakland Baptist Church.
