Oakland offers a number of retreats in which oportunities are given for spiritual growth. Our women have two retreats each year. In the fall, we spend a weekend in the mountains reflecting on our relationship with God. We also enjoy spending time with each other. In the spring, Oakland's women travel to Myrtle Beach for the Women of the Church Conference, sponsored by Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina, North Carolina Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and national CBF. This conference is attended by women from NC and SC. We also offer marriage retreats each year for couples in our church. We spend the weekend reflecting on how ways we can stregthen our marriages. |

We offer a number of small group Bible studies. Many of these groups are gender based groups. Most of the groups meet weekly and follow various curriculums. These groups meet to study scripture, pray, and support each other. |

Oakland provides Sunday School classes for all ages. From babies to senior adults, we have over 35 different classes. Most of our classes use Formations literature by Smyth and Helwys. Several of our classes use alternative literature. Our classes have excellent teachers and the classes are warm and inviting. Sunday School meets at 9:45 each week. Come in any door at Oakland and one of our greeters will help you find a class. |
